I can do all things

Ten year old Tommy enter the room and asked his mother, "Hey mom, can you sew theses words on this t-shirt for me? "

His mother looked at the words Tommy had written on the paper and said "my new sewing machine could do it but why do you want those words on your t-shirt?

It was our memory verse and I like the verse and I thought it would be cool to have it put on one of my shirts.

So the next day, when Tommy got home from school, his mother handed him the t-shirt with the words sowed across the front.

Tommy went upstairs and put it on and looked into the mirror and then repeated the words, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."  "Wow!" Tommy thought.  "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."

For the next couple of days, Tommy wore that shirt under his sweat shirt whenever he went out to play.  He took an old dish towel and safety penned it to the back of the shirt likes cape.  When he ran around his room, it felt like he was flying.  He was Tommy, who could do all things through Christ that stregnthens him.

A couple of days later, he and his friends were riding their bikes down the street.  As they drove past Mr.  Weathers  house, they could see that he was working on his car in the driveway.  He waved to the boys and climbed back under the car.  Suddenly, the car shifted and fell of the jack.  Mr. Wether's feet were sticking out from under the car.  tommy  and his friends could not believe their eyes.  Tommy's friends all ran off in fear, but not Tommy.  Stripping off his sweat shirt, he ran like the wind to the front of the car, his cape flying in the breeze.  He placed his hands on the bumper and repeated the phrase, "I can do all things through Christ who stregnthens me" and he pushed with all him might.  Slowly the car began to rise off Mr. Wethers.  Tommy picked up the car and began moving the car to the side of the driveway away from the unconscious Mr. withers.  He slowly lowered the car to the drive way and...

"Tommy, are you ready for church.  We have to leave soon if we are going to make it on time."

"Sure mom, I was just thinking about our memory verse for this week.  I'll be right downstairs."

He walked pass the mirror and looked at his image, flexed his ten year old muscles and repeated " I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."

"I'm coming right now mom,  I don't want to be late to church,"  and off he ran down the stairs.
